Research, Type, Research, Chicken Casserole
08/09/2010 13:27Matt Maeda
This morning I was thinking about what is it im doing with my life, then again i sit and know that im updating the website, but without other people involved on a daily basis it seems like my projects arent going anywhere even if i know inside they are moving quite far. I had some pains in the morning, but i went back to sleep waking up around 10:00am from the time I originally had awoken at 6:00am.
Doing my daily 10 minutes of browsing facebook i noticed how about 50% of the people I knew about 5 years ago all moved to the mainland with an insignificant find that it was not much different from their home islands. After living here my whole life and traveling so much in my youth I guess I should be thankful to know that the Grass is as Green as you make it rather then the Grass being Greener on the otherside. This island no matter how good or bad I have accepted ever since I started college that it is what you were given and each geological location holds its own goods and bads.
I continued to go to the website to start typing since I knew if i just stared at the endless amounts of websites on information about the topics I would get no where. I took a long look at Akibakei and Shibuyakei, but still had no time for Otaku. The reason being is that Otaku have so much information which is already out there while the other two have much to be developed. In my mind I figure I won't start working on Otaku more until the other three Urban Cultures Rinascimento, Akibakei, and Shibuyakei are more molded in their prospective stages.
Talking about Shibuyakei I was able to successfully make a Chicken Broccoli Casserole which was a first for me. My mom watched over my preperation, since I think she wouldnt trust me with sharp objects and burning ovens which could possibly burn my house down, even if i have made Salsa and chopped all the ingredients as well as cooked Chicken before by myself in California alone. I think next time I will want to see how well a Chicken Casserole turns out with bacon or Spanish long rice.

Working Constantly, Chrono Trigger, and Black Forest Ham...
07/24/2010 15:20Matt Maeda
At my computer I continue to work on Rinascimentot o meet a deadline while studying Shibuyakei on the side. Yes I almost forgot Otaku and Akibakei, but im too damn busy right now. I have been feeling a bit drained due to my condition, but whats new? I finally took all my medication except for one this week. Woo hoo for me, now lets see how long this lasts... Anyways I have been typing and typing which seems to have no end. I am not a expert in culinary foods, but I do know what sounds good to my ears. Hopefully next week we can see if what sounds good looks and tastes good too.
My cousin Kyle who never calls these days called out of boredom, but i guess thats some reason to show you care right? i called back and he helped me out with a lead. I was happy to get a lead, but I really wish hed care more. Then again theres alot of stuff we want to wish for right? Well I was thankful after checking my phone and went about my day. I think all the typing gave me the munchies because at some odd hour in the evening I went into my fridge and ate all the black forest ham : L. I know Im going to probably need to excersize to get that off, but it beats going to McDonalds right!?
Well on top of that I have been listening to some soothing music from one of my most favorite games Chrono Trigger to relieve my brain from all the research online and offline I have been doing. I can't believe I even went to the library to get some insight on the Dark Ages... I must be getting old for using books. Everyone usually just asks Wikipedia right? lol. The music doesn't help too much with making me feel better, but its keeping my mind off of this crazy crazy thing im trying to do with inventing a social subculture. Its good to know you have friends who are on this road with you though. With hard work and Tamashiro Market Spicy Poke anything is possible!

Reunion with a Old Friend
07/23/2010 17:18Matt Maeda
Yesterday I met up with a friend I had met so many years ago. It felt a little awkward since it has been awhile since we contacted one another. I tried to tell him about all the projects, updates, and products we were working on as a group. By a group I mean myself at this point. I told him how the future was looking better since the members have been contributing their share now instead of all the creative work being on my shoulders alone. I drank my Pepsi and my friend Jason his water. The rotating fan kept us thirsty...
I showed Jason the green book. With no surprise he noticed I have written tons and tons of stuff. I was thinking to myself I wonder what he knows. So I let Jason start to read the green book so that he could be updated with the rest of the team. After talking awhile I then thought to myself and realized that it wasn’t just an update of what has been happening, it was me actually missing my friend who I haven't talk to in so long. I was thinking, okay, who thinks like that? I guess I do? weird... and I sipped my Pepsi.
I waited on the floor killing time while he read the Green Book. Understanding that it was necessarey for Jason to get updated as soon as possible I tried to entertain myself. I turned on the XBOX360 and popped in my favorite fighter, Super Street Fighter 4. I wondered why I had started to miss my friends... that sort of thing always happens. I guess it could be that one of my closest friends have recently passed away... I looked at my Cthulu doll which hangs at my window. I guess people pass and you can't help but miss them. I wish i could just dump these dumb feelings of mine.
We parted ways after he read the Green Book and we promised to talk to each other the upcoming week. I look forward to seeing how we work on our projects as the due date slowly approaches.

Taken for Granted and Punched Offcourse
07/18/2010 09:43Matt Maeda
As always I have been working on the lists of projects which overwhelms all of us on a daily basis. The summer only has four weeks left before most of the team has to prepare for going back to college for their last battle with the dreaded school system, just two semesters left for them! Meanwhile what will I be doing? I really should be looking for new members, but i since all the Graphics, Fashion, Project Management, and Creative Decisions lay all on my shoulders with teaching the team I seem to have taken on four times more than I could chew. Dreams are only something if you make them work, but
damn is it hard to get motivated with no princess at my side checking up on my well being. Oh well, for the sake of the state and myself I will push forward.
Where did I go or actually do this weekend? I was discussing the future of my friend Sean with what direction he wanted to go. Not like we havent already done this ten times over. I finally got it through my head I should just push work at him and make assignments for him to do. Sounds easy enough right? not so easy if you know he is very busy, kind, and has hard working intentions with the power of horse. Darn those feelings, who needs them! well after awhile of just pondering I started giving my friend more responsibility on researching the 1960's Family Life Style and Social Trends, so we could get a head start on Shibuyakei. The assignment was a five page report on the era so the rest of us could get some idea of what it was like back then before typing away at a whole nother book.
Later in the evening Sean and I were talking about another team mate... yeah gossip. Team mate Allan had not performed again because emotions got in the way when he heard someone with a higher authority "Admiral" one of the higher profession ranks told him to have fun. His brain says Go have fun its your last time! I look at him thinking WTF is your problem. I think of the situation in an orderly fashion... This guy is struggling to grow up. He neglected growing up his whole life and his own responsibilties. He has this one summer to learn it or take a huge life plunge into pavement. He has someone who is counseling him one on one almost seven days a week who has his own financial, social, and family obligations which only got put aside this one summer for the sake of what he is learning is a total douche bag. Hmmm this is quite screwed up. Im not sure how much more I want to invest in such a indeaver. If someone took you for granted and tossed all your teachings because they couldnt listen to their brain, would you keep helping them?
The evening comes and I try to calm down from my most valuable asset of time has been clearly gone down a shit hole. I go to bed with the mixed thoughts of Alan, the Website, and the Projects.
What to do, what to do... I just know priority one is definately the Rinascimento Project, so that is what I shall proceed with.

Long Day of Books
07/16/2010 22:04Matt Maeda
For those of you who are new to the site... welcome!
Its been a long week of learning about other people on the team. Each of the members have been working pretty darn hard to achieve their inner peace with themselves. Member Alan Alegre has been pummeling through the odds the past two days at the idea of understanding of others and commitment.
Meanwhile Nick Arakawa has been keeping the team in check emotionally and on schedule. I myself have been assisting in the teachings of Alan Alegre as
a secondary to Nick Arakawa. Hopefully by the end of the month we will be done with the tedious project of Rinascimento Planning which has been going
on for weeks and weeks...We are typing it out in sections and are going to be attacking the sections to get a more oiled machine...
