Placed into Exile

When people label someone a geek, nerd, or dork it could mean a number of things. The most common is that it relates with their hobbies and interests. The second most common is that they lack social skills. The third is that they don't take care of their physeque or fashion. These people are then trapped throughout most of their younger years as a label.

The School System

When we get out into the work force it is assumed that we know the difference between work and personal. Many things are expected of us as grown adults in the social field. The school systems don't concentrate enough about whats relative to your life, what is creative thinking, nor concentrate on the social aspects.

Geeks, Nerds, and Dorks

Originally Geek, Nerd, and Dork had generally the same meaning. As the years went on the terms Geeks, Nerds, and Dorks had slowly begun to define their own separate meanings and identities.

Stereotypes

A stereotypical Geek, Nerd, or Dork is a person who over thinks everything, cynical, brainy, analytical to a extreme, logical, and/or a computer user who claims to be a loner.

Geeks, Nerds, and Dorks Defined

Geek

Many ponder over the title of Geek as bad... but it really is a badge of honor to show lifelong dedication to thinking with your brain. Some geeks have great pride in being labeled a Geek. Some are just afraid to be called a geek because they feel they arent enough into the scene of knowledge or technology to answer questions about it.

The typical person who enjoys observing and participating in technology or thinking related hobbies. They are not quite known for their academics, but they do have enough social know how to form a group of other geeky friends.

ex. "I think Gary is a Geek. He knows a bit about socializing and he gets things done in the computer lab."

Nerd
This term usually refers to someone with technical or scientific endeavours. They are usually known for their amount of knowledge in academic subjects and usually are described as a straight A student. People sometimes call them Brains or Really Smart. Whenever anyone has a hard time in school they usually attempt to ask a Nerd a question they dont know because of their great lengths of academic knowledge.

ex. "Karin is a major nerd! she memorized all the math equations for the semester. You should go to her for help."

Dork
One who participates in a hobby that has to do with thinking, technology, or academic studies. The term dork has slightly negative connotations that the person is socially inept because they have had a lack of opportunity to mingle with other people. No one has taken the time to show them how to have tact or how to sociallize with other people. Social skills are usually low and they lack any tact when talking to others. When they learn social skills they are usually then referred to as a Geek.

ex. "The dude at the computer is such a Dork, all he does is watch streaming videos all day."
