Nuncheon

In Medieval Europe there were two meals a day. Dinner at the middle of the day and Supper in the evening. The reason many did not eat breakfast was to avoid gluttony. Eating small portions of food was popular, however not liked by moralists, since it was seen as being weak. These snacks were called nuncheon.

History

Rinascimento Nuncheons are linked with Tradable Card Games which have their roots in Card Houses. Card game enthusiests would make a stop from their job, school, or a special stop to go to Card houses to rest, ponder, and entertain themselves in the game itself and forget their problems just for a hour or so before returning to the labors of everyday life. At first, it was considered inappropriate to combine cards with food, because people believed it would lead to oil going on their cards and excessive weight gain. However, it turned out people accepted the idea of finger food, since they did indeed get hungry while playing their games.

The culinary art of Rinascimento Nuncheon originated with the people of Hawaii. It was designed as a way to relax while you eat. Many Card House goers would bring their computer and enjoy their blogs, newspaper, and/or cards.

 

Cuisine

Rinascimento Nuncheon includes various types of Bread Squares, Phallic Rounds, and Nightshade Chests. Ingredients are a mix of pork, beef, turkey, chicken, fish, and vegetables.

Nuncheon can be cooked by baking, smoking, and frying, however other methods have been used. The serving sizes are small and normally served as two or three pieces in one dish.

Rinacsimento Nuncheon dishes are ordered from a menu and are brought by a server, but sometimes the food is served from the counter cafeteria style. The food is placed in big warming trays and protected by a large glass window. Each tray is labeled with each different type of food with a small description.
