Music

Rinascimento music is a musical genre that was coined as a part of rinascimento culture. Rinascimento music has elements of Orchestral, Symphonic Rock, Classical, Neo-Classical Metal, Power Metal, and New Age.

Orchestral background music maybe sometimes used in combination with the Symphonic Rock aesthetic mixed with Power Metal. Songs are sometimes supported with sound samples of Folk and/or ambient instraments and/or sounds which can be similar to New Age. The approach is to be classical, theatrical, and sometimes operatic. Vocals of songs have a lead vocals which sometimes switch or are supported by opera like vocals. The music can be seen as a very technical performance with borrowing elements from Classical music, reason being that some people associate it with Classical and Neo-Classical Metal. Lyrics usually talk about events of a story which is occuring in the song.

The groups Rhapsody of Fire, Nightwish, and The Black Mages were referred by some people in America as Rinascimento music for its association with Medieval themes and semi-classical approach to their songs.

Origins

Creation of the term Rinascimento Music was coined by Matt Maeda who was trying to find a term to link music which followed Classical yet Modern influences from Medieval times which ended with Symphonics, Classical, Opera, and Folk...When listening to modern groups which used these themes it ended up pointing in the direction of Rhapsody of Fire, Nobuo Uematsu, and Nightwish who were already known for their music styles and themes of mythology, fantasy, and story.

Rhapsody of Fire had released Symphony of an Enchanted Land which caused buzz around the time in the medieval communities for its Fantasy themes which were said to be inspired from old fantasy novels. Nightwish was also circulating within the Fantasy, Medieval, and Gothic communities for its similarities in themes and music style. Both were labeled under Symphonic Rock, Neo-Classical Metal, and Power Metal. People who were listening to this type of music were into Miniatures, Board Games, and Paper and Pencil RPGs.

The roots of Rinascimento music are found in the Card Game, Metal, Medieval Gothic, and Video Game scenes.

People who discussed Rinascimento music looked at Rhapsody of Fire, Nightwish, Yasunori Mitsuda, and Nobuo Uematsu as the pioneers of Rinascimento music.

A sound which merged two separate listening parties was Nobuo Uematsu, Keiji Kawamori, Kenichiro Fukui, and Tsuyoshi Sekito with the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children soundtrack. The reason was its combination of elements of Symphonic Rock, Neo-Classical Metal, Power Metal, Orchestral, New Age, and Classical which fit just about all the categories which was fantasy. The only thing was the lack of Orchestral vocals, Melody Vocals, and Primary Vocals of the song.
